Finding Your Beauty Sleep
According to Swedish sleep scientists , getting your beauty sleep isn’t just a lie . There is an important bond between the hours of nighttime rest you get, and your “beauty”. Those who are stay up too late appear less healthy , more tired , and less attractive than those who have received a full-night’s worth of rest. “Why is Sleeping Beauty so beautiful? Is it because she sleeps a lot?” When Swedish researcher John Axelsson was asked this question by his daughter, he chose to do a study. This study, and many other studies have unveiled very startling bonds between a lack of sleep and many health challenges . Over the years , there have been numerous studies linking neglect of sleep to depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and surprisingly, weight gain . A study in 2008 found that 50 to 70 million Americans suffer from this fast growing problem of sleep loss or sleep disorders. The scarier statistic is that the amount of individuals averaging six hours of sleep or less is increasing . That being said, why don’t people get more sleep?
